CYT North Idaho

Welcome to CYT North Idaho!
Christian Youth Theater North Idaho (CYT NI) is an after-school youth theater arts education program for ages 5-18. We offer classes and summer camps in drama, music, dance, technical theater, and more! We are one of 24 CYT branches nationwide.

Each year we produce three full-scale musicals for ages 8-18, and one summer show for ages 8 and up. We teach musical theater to build confidence and character in a non-competitive environment. Join us!

What Does CYT Offer?
Classes – Classes | CYT North Idaho
CYT offers classes over the course of three sessions during the school year: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Weekly classes last for two hours and run for ten consecutive weeks. A variety of classes are offered in drama, voice, dance, and specialty classes that vary per session. Class sizes are small and offer supervision both inside and outside the classroom.

Parents send their children to CYT classes to learn, and that’s exactly what they will do! At the end of a CYT session, your student will come away with a new or improved skill in the area of emphasis. During the last week of class, a high-energy Showcase is presented by each class to show other students, family, and friends all they’ve learned.

Shows – Shows | CYT North Idaho
CYT shows are always appropriate for the entire family and are an excellent way to introduce children to the arts at a young age!

CYT produces one Broadway-style musical each session. Enrollment in a CYT class provides students aged 8-18, the opportunity to audition for the current production.

Students not cast in the show are encouraged to participate in other ways. Depending on age and ability, students can participate on the backstage crew, technical team, or the costume committee.

Camps – Camps | CYT North Idaho
Week-long musical theater day camps are offered during the summer months for campers aged 5-18. Typical camps include team competitions, drama, dance, music, and craft workshops, theme-related devotionals, and an impressive concluding showcase for family and friends.

Programs – Programs | CYT North Idaho
There are many ways to be part of CYT beyond the stage! CYT programs consist of everything that is not a class, camp, or show. Some of the available programs include HYPE, CCT, and CYT@school.

Anne Wigdahl Subia is a marketing professional residing in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, originally from San Diego, California. She studied Marketing at San Diego State University and holds an MBA. Professionally, she works as a Marketing/Communications Consultant.

Anne has been deeply involved with Christian Youth Theater (CYT) for nearly four decades. She was a member of the original CYT Board in San Diego alongside Paul and Sheryl Russell, serving for 14 years starting in 1982. Her roles included being the house manager for San Diego’s Mt. Helix shows and assisting in starting the San Diego Coastal division in 1989. She also participated in a San Diego Tri-City Production Team as House Manager through 2020. Anne considers herself blessed to have witnessed her son and grandchildren’s involvement in the program.

Currently, Anne serves on the Board of Directors for CYT North Idaho.

CYT North Idaho is an after-school theater arts education program for students aged 5-18, offering classes, workshops, camps, and live productions.

In February 2025, the organization presented productions of “Cinderella” and “The Lion King Jr.”
